About the Championship

The 71st World Ploughing Championship brings together the world's finest ploughmen and ploughwomen to compete in Osijek-Baranja County, Croatia. This prestigious event combines agricultural tradition, national identity, and international competition.

Organised by HUONO (Croatian Association for Ploughing Competition Organisation), the championship features two competition categories across two days of world-class ploughing.

The Contest

Two categories, two days of world-class ploughing

Friday, 4th September
Grassland Ploughing

4 Year Alfalfa

  • Soil: Sand 40%, Silt 40%, Clay 20%
  • Ploughing depth: 18-22cm
  • Conventional plot: 20m × 100m
  • Reversible plot: 16/24m × 100m
  • Headland: 15m
Saturday, 5th September
Stubble Ploughing

Wheat Stubble

  • Same soil composition
  • Same ploughing depth: 18-22cm
  • Same plot dimensions
  • Time: 20 min opening + 60 min stop + 160 min ploughing

Pre-Practice & Official Practice

Pre-practice available from 18th August 2026 at €150 per plot (40×50m). Official practice runs Mon 31 Aug – Thu 3 Sep. Each competitor receives 3 sighting poles.
